Bontag

Bontag is a bespoke ecommerce website built on WordPress and powered by Woocommerce. We were provided with the designs, so our focus was mainly on coding the website and integrating all of the complicated functionality they required – and this was a complicated one!

The focus of the website is returning lost items to the owner through a system of tags and labels that can be purchased and registered through the website. Each tag is registered on the website so when someone finds the item with the tag ID on, they can search for it on the website and contact the owner. The website allows users to add as many tags as they like, set rewards and edit / remove their items at any time. The system emails and text messages the owner and 3 of their contacts to make sure that the item gets returned speedily.

With coding this project there were many challenges because the design was more for print than for web, so we had to make it work across devices while maintaining the integrity of the design. We coded a bespoke content editor so that the business owner could add more pages and maintain the look and feel of the design. We also integrated multi currency, infinite scroll, recommend a friend discounts, and cookie tracking to implement custom sales processes and discounts.

On top of that we created a landing page custom post type and imported over 16,ooo SEO friendly landing pages to gain more traffic. Lastly we were asked to create 3 directory websites with over 10,000,000 landing pages to push traffic towards their website.

All in all this was a very challenging and interesting project!
