Intro

We collaborated with Liverpool John Moores University (JMU) to develop a news website specifically designed for journalism students to showcase their stories. The most crucial aspect of this process was selecting the right theme—one that had an appealing appearance and could be highly customised. It needed to have the flexibility to present diverse and engaging content in a clean and organised manner.

When working with a themed website, it is essential to ensure that the chosen template fulfils all the client’s requirements. This helps reduce the reliance on various plugins, ensuring a safer, more secure, and faster website. To kickstart the project, we installed the website’s demo version on our development server and used demo content to set up everything. From here we replaced the content with real stories and pushed the website live.
